Room Dedication and Ribbon Cutting

Hospice employees share their heart and soul everyday with patients and their families at the Comfort Care Center in Little Rock. Recently, staff gave even more to the Tribute of Life (TOL) Foundation for patients who otherwise would pass away unsupported and alone.

A generous gift from the hospice staff has launched the TOL Foundation’s ‘No One is Alone’ Initiative at the Comfort Care Center, and named the first room dedicated to this unique effort. The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce joined Hospice Home Care to celebrate with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on April 23, at 2200 Bowman Road in Little Rock, AR.

“This generous gift from our employees will honor Mr. James Nield, RN. A former Hospice Home Care employee, co-worker and friend, James was the first patient to benefit from the ‘No One is Alone’ Initiative” says, CEO Cathy Newhouse RN, BSN, MA.

Facing the end-of-life can be hard. Facing it alone, in the absence of family, friends, financial resources and qualified caregivers, is even harder. “Hospice Home Care’s staff care deeply about meeting end-of-life medical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients”, says Gayla Parker, Chaplain at the Comfort Care Center.

In support of these outstanding needs, “The TOL Foundation believes, everyone deserves to complete their journey in a warm, clean bed, surrounded by people who care”, says Jack Ciak. The Tribute of Life Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity founded in 2013 to provide extra support to hospice patients and their families during complicated times of loss and bereavement.
